  8. HEALTH GOAL: Increase Youths and Adults Who Are Healthy and Avoid Risky Behaviors* GOAL: ADULTS ADULTS YOUTH GOAL: YOUTH ADULTS YOUTH *Adults and youth were measured using separate survey. For youth, the measure is: grade 9-12 students who reported being healthy and avoiding risky behaviors (not involved in school violence; no tobacco or drug use; no alcohol abuse (including drunk driving); practicing abstinence or safe sex; and not being overweight. What’s in it for me? • It’s not enough to produce outputs or serve clients; we have to move the needle with our partners • Education, Income and Health problems are interconnected • The root causes of issues require coordinated responses • Organizations in our communities can’t solve these problems alone, and neither can United Ways • Inconsistency and inefficiency are stifling our progress – and children and families pay the price Opportunities in Education, Income and Health
