  3. CVT Profile • Development of IT-based systems for the communication, management and publication of scientific information • Started 10 years ago, based on DTV´s history of developing library automation systems (ALIS) and close links to CERN and the early WorldWideWeb project

  4. CVT Focus Areas • Digital libraries • Virtual union catalogs, database cross-searching • E-journal systems, authorization, payment • Web harvesting and indexing systems • Subject based information gateways, etc • Electronic publishing • Migrating print journals to the web • Editorial workflow systems for (secondary) journals • Institutional repositories / open archives / e-print databases
