  7. And…. Beware the Potted Plant….. … from the Garden Center. It may well be soaked in pesticides. …. … but you might find an “organic” section in your local garden centers… ASK THEM! There seems to be only one whollyOrganic garden center ….. in Texas … NOTE: Rotenone, from the Derris plant, is “organic” but can cause PD.

  8. And who suffers most? In California the incidence of PD is highest among Hispanics - - - no doubt due to exposure to pesticides while working in agriculture (ie farm work.) Parkinson’s used to be called the Farmers’ disease. It could likewise be called the GARDENERS’ disease.

  9. In 2001 EPA found that AZM (aka Guthion) posed unacceptable risks to workers…. But the EPA allowed use to continue for4 more years. WHY? “because less toxic replacements cost more” Where does the US rank internationally in HEALTH OUTCOMES? With such polices is it any wonder the US ranks very low - just ahead of Slovenia!!

  10. 2007 UFW and environmental groups reopened a law suit targeting AZM plus phosmet and chlorpyrfos - - - highly neurotoxic organophosphate insecticides UFW = United Farm Workers EPA: We will ban…. but in 6 years Money outweighs health?

We must accuse the EPA ie the ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY of… .Failing to test vigorously the safety of all pesticides …and in a manner that reflects the various modes of use (e.g. research led by Cory-Slecter on synergistic effect of using 2 pesticides) . Failing to inform the public . Failing to protect farm workers e.g Allowing cost to count for more than health or death by allowing 6 years’ continued use before removing a pesticides proved to be dangerous .

Failing to investigate organic farming and gardening in order to perhaps reduce pesticide damage to people and the environment In summary: listening to the requests of pesticide ssellers rather than fulfilling their mandate to protect the environment . Are these defects due to the fact that the EPA is funded by the industries it monitors!!? A daft arrangement!
