  2. PASI 2013 – Forming Teams • Improves retention, average performance, diversity. • May prevent deep thinking, high performance by individuals, discourage innovation. • Used extensively in medicine, engineering: • Fields that assess individuals with licensing exams.

  3. PASI 2013 – Forming Teams Objective: each team has a diverse range of abilities and experience. First we will identify what categories of capability and experience we have here. Each group gets up and joins the line from left to right at the back of the room. Once you are in line, please stay in order. Will form the teams now, in ability order…

  4. Instructors vs. Participants: If you are an instructor or staff of this workshop, you are not eligible to join a team. Staff will not raise their hands nor line up at the back. Participants, please raise your hand.

  5. Critical Need: If you have the physical ability to make 100 hits with a 5-kg sledgehammer, without hurting yourself, you are in the Herocategory. Heroes, please raise your hand.

  20. Count Off Your Team Number: Starting at the head of the line, you will count off- 1st person in line shouts “One”, 2nd shouts “Two”, etc. Count off from 1 to 6 (or 5?). Remember your number! That is your team number.

  22. Reorganize the Room: You will sit with and work with your team for the remainder of the workshop. Each team will have 5 members. Each team sits at two adjacent tables. Team 1 at southwest pair of tables, then going back, and coming forward.
