Peacemakers – Children of God. Matt. 5:9; 10:16, 34. This Is Not Personal Peace. But making peace in a divided world. Racial strife, social conflict, even “church” fights. What can we do? Stand for the right. Beware of the danger. Both sides attack the peacemaker.

  2. This Is Not Personal Peace • But making peace in a divided world. • Racial strife, social conflict, even “church” fights. • What can we do? • Stand for the right. • Beware of the danger. Both sides attack the peacemaker.

  3. Peace – Harmony – To Be Whole • 1. With God. • We stand for salvation. And that is found only in Christ. • 2 Cor. 5:17-19 • To obey the “gospel of peace” brings one into the “kingdom of peace”. Eph. 6:15, 2:13-17. • We present this to the world, and insist on it.

  4. 2. Inner peace • Again, not for self. We help provide this to others. • No peace when serving two masters - Gal. 5:24. • No peace when overwhelmed with guilt. • Jesus is the answer we provide.

  5. 3. Peace With Others • We teach forgiveness – Matt. 6:12, 14-15 • The only way to be forgiven. • And understanding – Eccl. 7:21-22

  6. We Fight… • Contentiousness – Prov. 26:21; 29:22; Eph. 4:31f. • Uncontrolled tongue – Prov. 16:28; 26:20; James 1:19; 3:6 • Foolish and unlearned questions – 2 Tim. 2:23

  7. Peace Must Be Pursued • Not just talked about. I Peter 3:11; Heb. 12:14 • Called children of God – because we show it. • How do you feel when you’ve caused a “fuss”? Not very holy. • How would you feel when you’ve mended a “break”? James 5:19f.
