  3. In today’s economy your contract assembly partner is a critical link in your ability to retain your Customers –

  4. Quality product that arrives late will cost you money…. Credibility…. And maybe a Customer.

  5. Product received on time that does not meet quality specifications will cost you money…. Credibility…. And maybe a Customer.

  6. MANAGING THE DETAILS At EMS we believe that delivering a quality product on time is an accumulation of managing the details.

  7. MANAGING THE DETAILS EMS has developed a comprehensive set of procedures to manage the countless details involved in high mix manufacturing environment.

  8. Procedures are all contained and tracked with two tools…. The Sales Order Traveler and the Shop Traveler

  9. MANAGING THE DETAILS: SALES ORDER PROCESSING The Sales Order Traveler is a documentation and tracking tool we have developed to define and monitor the sales order progression as a PROCESS.

  10. MANAGING THE DETAILS: SALES ORDER PROCESSING An entry is started in the (Omni-Form) database by the Customer Liaison upon receipt of a Customer PO

  11. MANAGING THE DETAILS: SALES ORDER PROCESSING Delivery Customer PO Date Sales Order #

  12. MANAGING THE DETAILS: DOCUMENT CONTROL Related Quote We sent a confirmation of receipt

  13. MANAGING THE DETAILS: SALES ORDER PROCESSING Assembly/Revision matches our documentation and quote Quantity as quoted? PO adds requirements not quoted? Price as quoted?

  14. MANAGING THE DETAILS: SALES ORDER PROCESSING Engineering confirms documentation is complete / correct. System BOM entry and Shop Traveler complete

  15. MANAGING THE DETAILS: SALES ORDER PROCESSING Production creates a Job in the system – creating the demand for the components as defined in the BOM

  16. MANAGING THE DETAILS: SALES ORDER PROCESSING Stockroom issues any components we have in stock to the job

  17. MANAGING THE DETAILS: SALES ORDER PROCESSING Purchasing orders the balance of materials as defined by the ERP system

  18. MANAGING THE DETAILS: SALES ORDER PROCESSING Production schedules a ship date based on actual material-in-house date from purchasing

  19. MANAGING THE DETAILS: SALES ORDER PROCESSING Customer Liaison sends delivery confirmation to the Customer

  20. MANAGING THE DETAILS: DOCUMENT CONTROL Accurate, thorough, and unambiguous documentation assures compliant product .

  21. Before proceeding we will Confirm that we have all the required documentation as per the revision specified by your Purchase Order.

  22. MANAGING THE DETAILS: DOCUMENT CONTROL Your documentation is the “bible”. We will make no changes, material or otherwise without your written authorization. When all the “I”s are dotted and all the “t”s are crossed…

  23. Our manufacturing engineering function inputs your Bill Of Materials into our ERP system and develops a shop traveler to thoroughly document the assembly process.

  38. Your primary point of contact at EMS will be one of our Customer Liaisons. Their top priority is Customer communication and they are YOUR representative at EMS.

  39. We have no high-tech profile, hold no internet patents, and don't even have a proprietary product to sell. What we have is a long history with many demanding customers because we take care of them.

  40. Our current customer base encompasses a broad range of industries.

  41. The common thread among them is that they require special attention from an assembly contractor to meet the unpredictable needs of their customers… Supplying that attention is what we consider to be our strongest competency.
