  5. Classified Employees Types: Ongoing Limited Duration Temporary-Classified Temporary-Non Regular Less regularly used: Seasonal, Intermittent, Academic Year SEIU Collective Bargaining Agreement All except temporary: hired via MyTrack Temporary: Request to Hire and PRF

  6. Officer of Administration OA Policies and Procedures OA Position and Pay Actions Hired via MyTrack Direct Appointments allowed in certain circumstances Types: Ongoing Interim

  7. Faculty Types: Tenure Track Hired via IHP Process Non-Tenure Track Career Research Pro Tem United Academics CBA Office of the Provost Hired via MyTrack Pro Tem can be via Pools Temporary Faculty (<6 weeks and <$3,000) may be appointed via PRF process

Student Employees Postings managed by Career Center  Handshake Must be posted there if using Federal Work Study funds Policies and Procedures managed by Human Resources https://hr.uoregon.edu/recruit/student-employment/policy-and-procedures Hiring paperwork submitted directly to Payroll  SEF Packet

Most commonly paid as hourly employees Student Wage Rates published online Be aware of minimum wage differences if outside Eugene Can be paid via stipend Requires special approval Work cannot be paid via stipend over hourly for convenience Ensure work is undergraduate level

  10. Graduate Employees Employment includes pay, health insurance, and tuition waiver Represented by GTFF Union Limited to .49FTE across ALL positions Postings managed by Graduate School If graduate student is performing graduate level work at graduate level pay, may need to be a GE Appointment

  19. To submit a background check request, go to our website  (https://hr.uoregon.edu/recruit/background-checks) and click “Submit a Request” 

  20. You can also submit background check requests directly* to backgroundcheck@uoregon.edu.   The request must contain the following information:      Applicant’s First Name:      Applicant’s Last Name:      Applicant’s Email:       Department Contact Name:      Department Contact Email:      Purpose of request: (volunteer, student employment, graduate employment, temp classified hire) *Note: If you are submitting multiple requests, you can submit one email with the necessary information for all applicants.

  21. The applicants will receive an email from Risk Mitigation Services with a secure link to complete their online authorization.

  22. The department contact listed on the request will receive the following email when the background check has cleared: McBride, Ryan

  23. If a background check reveals any convictions (findings), HR will coordinate with the respective VP to obtain the required approval.   Once VP approval is received, the department contact will receive the automated “clear” email. If a VP elects to decline the request, HR will contact the applicant and notify the department contact.
