  5. The mission of the Pennsylvania Department of Education is to lead and serve the educational community, to enable each individual to grow into an inspired, productive, fulfilled lifelong learner. 5

  6. Articulation Points • Examine the approved PDE Program(s) of Study. • Award of college level course credit. • Course Credit is applied toward the completion of a POS leading to an industry recognized credential or certificate at the postsecondary level, or an associate or baccalaureate degree.

  7. Secondary School Conditions • Implement the approved PDE Program(s) of Study. • Provide assessment of student competencies based upon performance standards as prescribed by the approved PDE Program of Study.

  8. Secondary School Conditions • Furnish documentation necessary to the Postsecondary Institution upon a student’s written request. • Documents should be student specific and verify that the student meets all secondary requirements of the approved PDE Program of Study.

  9. Secondary School Conditions Provide Documentation that must include each of the following items, if applicable • High School Diploma; • 2. Official Student Transcript; • 3. Secondary Competency Task List with the signature of secondary school technical instructor; • 4. PA Certificate of Competency or PA Skills Certificate in technical program area; • 5. Industry certifications earned.

  10. Students must: • Earn a high school diploma, achieve a minimum 2.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale in the technical courses and complete the Secondary School component of the approved PDE Program of Study.

  11. Students must: • Achieve competent or advanced level on the Secondary School end-of-program assessment that is appropriate to the approved PDE Program of Study. • Achieve proficiency on all of the approved PDE Program of Study Secondary Competency Task List. • Furnish documentation to verify qualification.

  12. Postsecondary Institution • Identify course equivalencies to the POS. • Award (9) articulated credits. • Implement reasonable and definitive policies and procedures for acceptance of learning experiences and coursework successfully completed at the Secondary School. • Collect and submit data annually • Abide by Credit Validation Mechanisms

  14. PDE Evaluation Measures • Annual review: POS approval, current signatures on agreement, compliance of guidelines, amount of articulated credit offered. • POS renewal: every three years, revision of POS AA and revision of POS Secondary Competency Task List and postsecondary POS outcomes

  15. Articulation Reporting • www.collegetransfer.net • Multiple audiences view equivalencies • Postsecondary Contacts record evaluations • PDE can generate reports as needed • IT service and live telephone support is available
