The achievement standard is the measure for each student’s learning progress and achievement.

Nature of the Achievement Standards What type of Standard is it? The Achievement Standard describes and illustrates level of learning that is needed to continue on to new learning in the sequence successfully. Our high expectations for students enable us to use this as a reference point for planning for students’ learning and how they will achieve beyond it.

Reporting BCE Advice and Guidelines for Twice-Yearly Reporting to Parents P-10 • Reporting Student Achievement in Years 1 – 10 • When communicating student achievement to their parent community, schools: • Provide an overall achievement result for each learning area/subject studied; and • Can also choose to report results in each of the two elements of the achievement standard i.e. a result related to Knowledge and Understanding and a result related to Skill.
