The Connexions Card initiative, led by Wendy Violentano, Head of the Connexions Card Unit at DfES, has achieved significant milestones since its launch. Over 300,000 cards have been issued, with partnerships established at 1,600 learning centers and 2,500 organizations visited. With unique rewards, discounts, and high web traffic, the project aims to enhance the lives of young people through access incentives and services like cashless travel and e-voting. Ongoing development includes exploring new applications, promoting collaborative efforts between local and central government, and optimizing existing investments for greater impact.

National Project – lessons so far • It isn’t easy! Healthy suspicion between local and central bodies • but each can learn from the other • There is massive investment going on which can be maximised if we work jointly • Branding is always an issue • There is hope……
