Technique • Lay face down on the bench • Your knees should be just over the edge of the bench • Adjust machine so the padding is on the lower part of your calf muscle • Grip the supplied handles • Bend your legs at the knee to bring the padding to touch the back of your legs • Return the weight back to the starting position using a slow-controlled movement.

  3. Typical mistakes • Arching your back • Using your gluteal muscles instead of your hamstrings

  4. Spotting • A partner can hold down your hips down if you are unable to keep your hips down.
