Poole • 8 Children’s Centres across Poole • Helping children to have a good start in life through play and fun activities • Supporting specific stages of children’s development, behaviour issues, communication and additional needs • Offering advice and information on childcare, early years education, training, volunteering and employment opportunities. • Offering child and family health services

  3. Engaging with families with young children • Health and multi-agency partners • Community events e.g. Family picnics, fun days and parties • Linking with parent and toddler groups • Local churches Turlin Moor trip to Moors Valley Park

  4. Volunteering • Currently 52 active volunteers and 248 on volunteer database • Recruitment / Training • Nature of volunteering roles • Parents Forums / Advisory Boards • Practical support • Meeter-Greeter • Admin support • Ongoing support Old Town Parents Forum

Impact of Volunteering • Taking up work/training/education • linking with family champions • Raising parents aspirations • Children’s Centre Champions • Positive outcomes for children • charting/evidencing family progression • Positive partnerships • COAST(community outreach and support team) COAST volunteers
