  10. X • 此處的副詞first及下文的next均為表示「時間」的轉折語氣詞,用於表示事情發生先後順序,此類轉折語氣詞— First, next, then, after that,… at last ◊To cook the instant noodles, first, you have to boil water. 15. Reading 2/8 The poem on the right was written by a fourteen-year-old student. It is about friendship, and it is called “Friendship Soup.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7w7yXkJTu0

  16. Reading Like tomato soup, only Better, more Satisfying, and Good for your soul. 

  17. All you need is a can of love, Opened with a smile, Poured into a bowl of good feelings and similar interests. http://inspirably.com/uploads/user/8069-a-friend-is-someone-who-knows-all-about-you-and-still-loves.png

  18. Mixed with: a Cup of warm wishes, 3 cups of talking, 5 cups of time together― House visits, 2 teaspoons of helpfulness, 3 cups of trust, A shoulder to cry on, A basket of hugs, 3 tons of encouragement, And don’t forget─ a Bit of nuttiness!

◊ The poor child had nothing to eat. ◊ I need a chair to sit on. ◊ I will be there if you need a shoulder to cry on。 http://static.yourtango.com/cdn/farfuture/GQ6CMfOgU4jhLElDS1Z4SYw2nBf_wcyIe16mwY5SzmY/mtime:1427885972/sites/default/files/styles/listing_big/public/images/sad20woman.jpg?itok=HTs_6CuD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-_4g5PNBvg

  20. Reading The poem shows that if you want to enjoy a close friendship with another person, you have to make an effort. You cannot just sit back and wait for it. Like a good chef, you have to make it happen.

  21.  make 在此作使役動詞 (causative verb),後方的受詞補語應為原形動詞。常用的使役動詞除了 make 之外,還有 let、have 等 ,例: ◊ The umpire made the baseball player leave the field. ◊ Let me tell you the story. ◊ He had a mechanic fix his car.

  22. Reading The poem also says that friendship needs many different things. For example, trust and similar interests are very important. If you really trust your friends, you can talk to them about any problems you have and share your feelings with them. http://cdn.girlishh.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/share-your-feelings.jpg

  23. If you and your friends have similar interests, you will spend more time doing the things you enjoy together. http://www.wigtownshireu3a.org.uk/images/about_us09.jpg http://socialdancespot.com/images/content/home/group_class.png

  24. Reading Friendship also needs care. You can’t leave it alone, just as you can’t leave soup on the stove without stirring it. http://www.escapethecity.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/my-first-spanish-omelette-burned.JPG

  25. ② 此處為雙重否定 (double negation) 的句型用法。動詞否定 (can’t) 再加上副詞否定 (without stirring),這種雙重否定的目的在於強化肯定的語氣,例: ◊ Miranda can’t make a delicious dish without following the recipe.

  26. Reading Friendship, like soup, needs your time and attention. Though having a friend keeps you busy, it also makes you happy. http://tulsahomeforsale.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/friends-touching-hands.jpg

  27. 連接詞 though 用以引導表「讓步」的子句,意同於although,可置於主要子句的前方或後方,亦可以but或in spite of the fact that …的句型改寫。 ◊Though May was sick, she still went to work.May still went to work(,) though she was sick.  May was sick, but she still went to work.  In spite of the fact that May was sick, she still went to work.

  28. Reading A good friend, like a bowl of good soup, can be just what you need when you feel down. http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2015/04/29/01/281EA81E00000578-3059890-image-a-7_1430268679071.jpg
