  4. 1. Place Name • Toponym: name give to a place on earth • Longest name of a place: Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg

  5. 2. Absolute Location • Exact location such as an address or Latitude/longitude coordinates • EX: 50N, 75E • 5015 S. Blackstone

  6. 3. Situation (relative location) • Location of a place relative to other locations • Kenwood is east of the lake

  7. 4. Site • Physical characteristics of a place • Climate, water, topography, soil, vegetation, elevation

  8. Human Characteristics • Characteristics about the people • Language, culture, population, tourism, economy, religion, government etc.
