Check your account hold status on SIS • Attend an information session • Develop several versions of your schedule so that you have a backup plan in the event that your first-choice class(es) is/are closed. • CSH Scheduler: http://schedule.csh.rit.edu • Check your progress toward your degree by using TigerTracks. Log in to SIS: http://infocenter.rit.edu • Click on the “Miscellaneous” tab • Click on the holds link to see if you have any holds on your record. • Financial Holds: go to Student Financial Services • Deans’ Holds: go to your department • Student Conduct Holds: go to Student Conduct • Medical Holds: Student Health Center CHECKING YOUR HOLD(S)

  4. Separate your classes into priorities • Top Priority: Required classes that are restricted (limited seats available, etc.) • Medium Priority: Required classes that are open. • Low Priority: Electives Develop several versions...

  5. The first class you will register for should be the top priority class. Successful registration in that class will determine which schedule(s) you will select from. Develop several versions

  7. ME Second-Year Classes: • Fall: Statics • Winter: Mechanics of Materials, Mechanics of Materials Lab, and Thermodynamics • Spring: Dynamics, Fluid Mechanics …IF YOU MEET THE PREREQUISITES FOR EACH OF THESE CLASSES!!! THE CLASSES

  8. ME Second-Year Course Prerequisites: • Statics: Physics I, Calc II or C • Mechanics of Materials: Statics • Co-requisite: Mechanics of Materials Lab • Thermodynamics: Calc II or C, Physics II • Dynamics: Statics • Fluid Mechanics: Thermodynamics THE CLASSES

  9. Physics Sequence • Physics I • Corequisite: Calc B • Physics II • Physics III THE CLASSES • Math Sequence • Calc I, II, III • Calc A, B, C, III • Multivariable Calculus • Differential Equations • Matrices and Boundary Value Problems • Engineering Statistics

Have no fear – there are LOTS of classes you can take! • Science Elective: virtually any calculus-based science course (here are just a few examples): • Chemistry of Materials • University Astronomy • Modern Physics • Organic Chemistry • General Biology (with lab) Don’t meet the prerequisites?

Have no fear – there are LOTS of classes you can take! • Liberal Arts • Work on your concentration or your general education requirements! • Wellness • Two classes required before you graduate • Calc 261 Track: • Try taking Materials Science and Materials Science Lab (usually taken in the third year, but chemistry is the only prerequisite) Don’t meet the prerequisites?
