The inaugural Coaches Charity Match took place on Sunday, May 31, during the Jubilee weekend for Manurewa AFC. Our junior coaches donned the blue and gold jerseys for a thrilling showdown against Papakura. The atmosphere was electric as the crowd rallied for their teams, showcasing local pride. It was a fierce contest, culminating in a half-time score of 3-0 in favor of Papakura. A late penalty from Matt Jorgensen brought the final score to 6-1, showcasing Papakura's outstanding performance while Manurewa showed spirit and determination despite the loss.

The 1st Coaches Charity Match
Kick Off On Sunday the 31st May the Jubilee weekend for Manurewa AFC. We saw for the first time our junior coaches pull on the mighty blue and gold jersey's and go to war against Papakura. The crowd was gathering as they marched onto the field, there was local pride at stake. It was a hard fought battle and the crowd was going wild, "children and all" as these warriors fought for their pride.

A penalty goal in the dying minutes by Matt Jorgensen scored was the only point for the home side Throughout the game Manurewa showed skills, enthusiasm and determination but alas to no avail. Papakura put on an outstanding performance of their skills and trumped home successful and triumphant. The outcome was 6 – 1 alas it was not in Manurewa’s favour, Papakura fought hard and went home victorious. Full – time result to Papakura 6 - 1
