Civic Participation= duties or activities of people in their town, city, or local area Rights: male citizens • Vote • Hold office • Own property • Defend self in court Responsibilities: • Serve in government • Fight for their polis as a citizen soldier Citizenship: only free, land-owning men, born in the polis
