  1. Welcome! • Please read your child’s letter to you in their LA Notebook! • Please write a letter back to your child in their notebook. • Look over papers on the desk. Please fill out the Room Mom’s Social Roster. You may take the papers, but leave the notebook! Thanks so much for coming!

All About Mrs. Campisi! • *  This is my 13thyear with the Cobb County School District!  I started my Cobb teaching career in south Cobb county at Teasley Elementary School where I taught first and second grade for 6 years.  For several years I stayed at home and raised my three wonderful boys!  For the past seven years I have been working here at Ford Elementary!  I love teaching second grade!  I have my early childhood teaching degree, my Gifted endorsement, a Teacher Support Specialist certification, and a Microsoft Innovative Educator certification. • When I’m not teaching, I enjoy gardening, reading, attending my sons’ sporting and band events, and going to fun places with my family! • I love my job and have a true passion for children! • I am always available for you and your child. • I am looking forward to a TERRIFIC year together!

  6. PLEASE CONTACT ME • If you have any changes to transportation or any information I need to know, please write it in your child’s agenda. That is the best way to communicate that type of information. Some days I do not get to my email until the end of the day. • In order for me to contact you, please take a moment to send me your e-mail address if you are not receiving group e-mails. • I am available to talk to you during my planning and after school. If there is something that you are concerned about please email me or write in your child’s agenda that you would like to speak with me. I am more than happy to help. Thanks for your help!

Second Grade Spelling Program • Students will receive words according to their spelling skill level. • 15 new words every week; 10 phonics- related words and 5 High Frequency Words. • High Frequency Words will be cumulative throughout the year. • Spelling lists will be found in their agenda and on Blog – Spelling City.

Safety Ford LOVES our parents, all you do for us, & having you here, but please note- -Our building and classroom doors will be locked at all times. -Our school is requesting that we do not have any adults who are not staff (unless you are here to volunteer) walking through our building. This includes morning arrival and afternoon dismissal. -The office can handle any needs you may have or any deliveries to our classroom. -The Cobb School Police will be auditing all schools. Anyone volunteering must check in at the front desk and wear a yellow name tag. -Please try not to get frustrated if the staff questions you at any time. ***Our goal is to keep our Ford kids safe at all times!***

  15. Homework Expectations • Homework is closely correlated to our instruction for that day. It is intended to reinforce understanding and build confidence. • If you find that your child is having difficulty completing the homework, please let me know so we can adjust the assignment accordingly.
