  2. Insect • The insects are the largest group of animals in the world. • In fact, about 75 percent of animals in the world are insects.

  3. Insects • Insects developed on Earth long before humans were alive. • Today there are about one million species of types of insects in the world.

  4. Insects • Scientists are always discovering new insects. • Insects can survive in almost any place where food is available.

  5. Flies • Flies are the size of one millimeter. • Flies have three pairs of legs, and five pairs of eyes. • Two of the flies eyes cover most of its head.

  6. Flies • Most flies get food from flowers. • The food flies get from flowers includes the dust like substance called pollen, and the syrupy liquid called nectar.

  7. Flies • Lots of flies eat dung. • Flies that can bite, such as mosquitoes, suck blood from all kinds of animals. • Flies live on lots of living plants as well as rotting plants and animals
