  2. Motivation • Constraint – Research – Absence of good quality, motivated project staff • Scheme – designed to address this constraint • Similar schemes exist – KVPY(DST), YEFP(IISc) • Aim : To provide a pool of quality research manpower to work on R&D projects

  3. Features • Catch them young – Talented students , good academic records, research interest • Advertisement, Tech fest, Road Shows • Selection criteria • Attractive package – M.Tech/M.Sc/Phd +project salary+ travel for conferences + other benefits

  4. Implementation • First Batch to be admitted in June 2004 • Selection to be completed by December 2003 • Proposed Committee to detail out scheme- Prof P.Seshu (Mechanical Engg) Convenor Prof M.K. Srinivasan (Maths) Prof A.M Kulkarni (Electrical Engg) Mr H.S. Varma (Asst Registrar, IRCC)
