  1. EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH ON SURFACE-GRAVITY WAVE ENERGY DISSIPATION Ivan Savelyev - Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science

  2. Air-Sea Interaction Salt-Water Tank

  3. Example of 3 water wave impulses of different frequencies, generated by paddle at the end of the tank in order to create focused breaking wave.

  4. Flow field during simulation of laboratory experiments. Top left panel shows velocity field in the air. Lower left panel is a 3-D view of the same moment. The mean velocity field is plotted in the water in the upper right panel, and the rms perturbation velocity field is plotted during the wave breaking event.

  5. Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) – left, Laser elevation gauge (LEG) – right.

  6. Water elevation series sampled two meters before breaking event.
