Join us for the Pioneers into Practice workshop in Birmingham on June 6th and 7th, 2013, where we will outline the details of your upcoming international placements. Important deadlines for payments, preferences, and preparations will be discussed. From June 10th, you will need to submit your five preferences for placements abroad. The Innovation Festival in Wroclaw, Poland, is set for October 21-23, with highlights including networking opportunities and a focus on entrepreneurship and climate initiatives. The Payments • Payment 1 : due next week (w/c 10th June) • Payment 2: due before end July • Payment 3: released as soon as all paperwork is signed, submitted and checked by us • - signed timesheet (signed by Pioneer and host) • Expenses sheet • Placement monitoring form
International matching • You tell us your 5 preferences by COP Monday 10th June. Some tips: • Do some research over the weekend • Let Kate know on Monday morning if you want to see some host applications • Go for the interesting placement, rather than for the (expected) weather and entertainment! • Let us know if you want to go to Holland, but still identify 5 other preferences as Holland is still at pilot stage and not 100% certain • We match you to 1 of your preferences where possible by mid-end June • The PiP manager in your chosen region does the final confirmation with the host by end June • We will let you know by early July • We suggest you contact your host in early July • You can make your travel and subsistence arrangements
International placement • Organise 4 weeks between 1st September and 18th October • Find our who else from this group goes to your host region • If you need a visa; let us know in time so we can issue a letter to the immigration authorities, and your current employer and host can do the same • Connect through LinkedIn/facebook and arrange joint travel/accommodation where possible • Do some research into living and working in your chosen region • Contact your host so you and they know what to expect • Be open minded; this will help you enjoy and learn the most!
