  3. PeopleSoft ID’sEmployee ID • Employee ID • Commonly referred to as EMPLID • Used in the HRMS system to uniquely identify employees • PeopleSoft delivered length is 7 digits • 10 million ID’s possible (shared with Student)

  4. PeopleSoft ID’sStudent ID • Student ID • Also referred to as EMPLID • Used in the Student Administration system to uniquely identify students • PeopleSoft delivered length is 7 digits • 10 million ID’s possible (shared with HRMS)

  5. PeopleSoft ID’sVendor ID • Vendor ID • Used in the Financial system to uniquely identify vendors • Primarily procurement • PeopleSoft delivered length is 10 digits • 10 billion ID’s possible

  6. PeopleSoft ID’sCustomer ID • Customer ID • Used in the Financial system to uniquely identify customers • Primarily billing and receivables • PeopleSoft delivered length is 15 digits • Uff da, that’s a lot!

  7. Playing TogetherEmployee ID & Student ID • PeopleSoft design for versions 8.X • Employees and students exist in one database • Our implementation • HRMS and Student Admin databases split • Process developed to “reserve” ID’s • Ensures “One person – one ID”

Playing TogetherEmployee/Student ID & Vendor ID • PeopleSoft delivered design does not anticipate using EMPLID for vendor ID • “Employee” is a vendor classification • Our implementation • Set up employee vendors using EMPLID for both vendor number and vendor short name • Process developed to establish/update vendor records from HRMS

  9. Playing TogetherVendor ID & Customer ID • PeopleSoft delivered design does not anticipate using vendor ID for customer ID or vice versa • Field on vendor record for customer ID • Field on customer records for vendor ID • Those links can be used for “netting”

  10. What about other ID’s? • Tax ID Numbers • Social Security Number • Employer ID Number • D&B Number • DUNS Number • Common NAID
