  4. Components of an effective DLO • An effective DLO will contain, at the very least: • Introduction • Learning Objective(s) (3 or less) • Rationale, description, background • Examples • Video • Relationship to other relevant concepts • Practice and Assessment • Summary/reflection

  5. Video A 10 – 15 minute video Where to begin? Select a content area • The video is a teaching video • The video is a “visual” of the lesson concept or skill • What do you want the students to learn from your video • Think about your learning objective • Think about your rationale • Bring the “raw” video to the next session

  6. Flip Camcorder iMovie Editor

  7. Flip Camcorder Insert a USB cord at the computer USB port Attach the Flip camcorder to the USB cord. Flip Share will open. The camcorder will begin to download your video(s) to the Flip Share software. Do not unplug or turn off the camcorder.

  8. Minimize the Flip window Save videos – Flip will automatically create a folder. Open iMovie – look at the toolbar at the bottom of the window; look for the gray star with a video camera icon. File- select New Project from the drop down menu Small window will appear

  9. Scroll down to Media Click on Movies Select the movie you will work with today. Highlight the clip and drag it to the Project Library window. Highlight the entire clip

  10. Click on the tool icon Inspector window appears Select stabilization Add transitions and text Your edited movie will be exported with the name you have given it. Export as Medium movie to your jump drive

  11. Session dates for the Flip Camcorder Cohort All sessions will be held in MB0.328 from 3:15 -5:15

  13. WIKI Assignment Each of you have a page in the Flip Camcorder folder.
