  2. Who Created The Building And Where Were They Built • The Harappan people created the buildings. • The buildings were near the Indus River Valley • High walls and small windows were used to keep out enemies.

  4. Taj mahal • Made of marble,jasper, jade, crystal, and terquoice • It was used for the tomb of Embers Shan Janah’s wife

  6. What Did They Use The Buildings For • Some were for temples • Others were for tombs for important people • Store rooms • Public bathing areas

  7. Architectural Designs • Shaped like squares or rectangles • Rooms of houses were built around a courtyard • High walls were to keep out enemies

  8. Similar Designs • Windows high up • Built under rocks/ cliffs • Large rooms and house (some families were able to live in one room together)

  11. Stupas and Temples • Stupas were started around the 2th and the 3thrd century b.c • Stupas are mound-shaped • Temples focus on all aspect of life • People believe that a temple can be a place were god may be approched
