1. Aligning Your Library To The State Standards
San Antonio ISD
Librarians Meeting
March 30, 2005 Good afternoon, and thank you for allowing me to present to you today. What I will be speaking to you about are
*** the new proposed state library standards:
*** the importance of Aligning Your Library to these Standards, and
*** how Follett Library Resources can help you accomplish this alignment and in the process manage your collections better.
I would like to begin by asking the group a very important question, Do you believe that the library standards are important?
Discussion NO because they are not mandated or Yes because
Aside from being a professional tool that will help you to measure and assess your library program, the standards are also a means for helping us to educate others about the importance of School Libraries and the impact of Library Media Specialists on Student Academic Achievement.
TESTIMONY: South San, Edgewood, SouthSide
