Sometimes this activity can be frustrating for them when the string falls out of the hole before they can grab it with the other hand.
Lacing also enables toddlers to learn patterns and develop hand-eye coordination through lacing and weaving. I normally let my 3-year old daughter practice lacing by repeating patterns created on top of the card or by playing with the ribbons so that she can discover and explore different designs on her own.
