Key Focus Areas www.nspe.org • Shaping Public Policy Actions NSPE Presses Congress, National Transportation Safety Boardon Pipeline Safety • Reduce scope and number of PE exemptions • Address the role of professional licensure in • non-traditional fields (e.g. emerging technologies). • Increase requirements for job specifications and requests for proposal that include NICET certification mandates for technicians. • Streamline and simplify licensure rules to increase license mobility between states. • Drive changes in the licensure model that improve its service to public health, safety and welfare, while minimizing cost and friction with innovation and economic opportunity. • Educate external stakeholders on role and importance of qualified engineering.
