  2. Purpose of Project In Response to Physicians’ Request to provide a method in CERNER PowerChart and FirstNet to check status of orders that have been placed in the STAR Order Entry System

Scope of the Interface • Laboratory Orders – except BB & Cytology; Send out if they are orderable in STAR if they don’t they will see Send Out Test Code and order in Comments • Ordered • In Process • Complete • Canceled • Radiology Orders • Ordered • In Process – • Ordered • Exam Complete – No Results • Exam Complete – In Progress (Preliminary) • Complete – Complete - Final Report • Canceled Future State – Optimizations of this functionality TBD

  4. All Orders have similar Lay out for Status Review Ordered – Lab Not drawn yet or Pt not in Radiology Dept In Process – Blood to lab or Patient to Radiology In Process – Exam Complete - Radiology when exam is complete but no report or Preliminary Report Available Complete – Resulted or Reported Cancelled

  5. PowerOrder Tab ReviewBolded headings in Navigation List have Viewable Orders – Clicking on the Heading will bring those orders to top of window

  6. Display OptionsDefaults are set to All orders 5 days Back – this is our recommended setting and will show future orders as well

  7. Customize View WindowAllows customization of order and type of columns, Grouping of orders and Sort Order – Orange Boxed areas show defaults

  8. Order Information Window

  9. Order Details – Priority, Date Due

  10. Series Orders - BMP Daily X 5 Days Displays Current Date Order and 3 days forward

  11. Result Review from PowerOrdersNote! Currently if there is a comment associated with the result in this view an * will display vs. a ^ which displays in the flowsheet views – this will be corrected in the future.

  12. Radiology Order List

  13. Nuclear Med – Cardiolyte StudiesResults will be viewable in Flowsheet only – Why? Report dictated into another system so will not interface with status updates but will be viewable in Flowsheets Results upon Completion

  14. Advanced Filters for PowerOrders Tab Recommend leave at default settings with look back of 5 days

  15. FirstNet Results Status Column

  16. Icon will appear when all Results are Complete

  17. Right Click on Cell to see Order Information

  18. Left Click to Open and View Results of Test

  19. FYI and Questions? Orders are encounter specific - Results on Flowsheets are not so will pull 24 hours prior to admission to current or based on Search Criteria Recommend leave defaults to look 5 days back - This will reflect future as well The ABG orders at SJE should post initially because they are being performed in Horizon Lab.  Once Respiratory goes live with the Radiance system, the orders will not post at either facility
