Logging In The site URL is http://testmanager1.com/usnscc Once Registration is completed, you may login using your assigned Userid and PW (which are both case sensitive) As the Unit CO, you have been given privileges as a system registrar. Note this is the same page cadets use to login to take an exam If you enter your ID and click ‘Forgot Password’ the system will email your password to you.

  4. Administrator Controls This is the list of Administrator links. Mainly you will just use the Candidate link to enter a cadet’s info and to assign tests to be taken. (Candidates refers to test-takers, which are the cadets)

  5. Creating and Editing Cadet Records Click to create a new cadet record and to register the cadet to take an exam. To edit an existing cadet record, double-click on name or highlight name and click

  6. Registering a Cadet for an Exam Creating a new record: Step 1 – Complete cadet information. • Login ID: Create a unique login ID for each cadet. Use this format: Unit Code, Lastname, Firstinitial, Middleinitial (i.e. – 010brownra) Password: Use PW created at “initial” login. • Leave dropdownas “Candidate” • Name: Name of cadet taking exam • Email Address: Email address of cadet • NSCC ID SSN: SSN of cadet • Region: Select region from “drop down” menu.

  7. Registering a Cadet for an Exam Upon creating a new record, or accessing an existing record: Step 2 – Highlight the appropriate exam.

  8. Registering a Candidate for an Exam Step 3 – Click the ADD button to move the test to the center column (note: double-clicking on a list entry does the same thing) Step 4 – click SUBMIT

  9. Registering a Cadet for an Exam After the system generates the exam its name shows under the “Is Registered For” column. The cadet is now registered to take the applicable exam “ONLINE”. Use this logon ID and pw for the for the cadet when they arrive to take the exam. (enter this ID to login at the site login page) (see previous topic on “Logging In”) Note that each test created is unique, meaning questions are randomly selected from a question pool, and the order of both questions and their answers are scrambled.

  10. How Cadets Take an Exam Online Step 5 – Unit CO will prepare time/place for cadet to take exam. Using the cadet’s assigned login ID (in the cadet’s record), the unit CO will login to the site on behalf of the cadet.

  11. How Cadets Take an Exam Online Step 6 – The system in now ready for the cadet to begin the test. The cadet must click on the test to highlight it, even if list only shows one test, then Click the “Begin” button to begin the exam. After clicking “Begin,” a new window will open at this point to display the instructions for the exam. When the cadet has answered “all” questions, they click on the “Done” button. The exam will be graded and the cadet’s score will be immediately displayed prior to logout, and an email containing test transcript (score only) will automatically be generated and forwarded to the email address of the cadet. A copy of the transcript is also sent via email to the unit CO that registered this cadet for the exam. The system also sends a test completion certificate to those cadets that pass the test. Your email will be used for proof when submitting documents for advancement to PO1.

  12. Login as Unit CO. (see page’s 3 for login instructions, and page 4 and 5 for how to view the cadet’s record, and page 7 and 8 for how to register a cadet for an exam) Printing Paper Exams If a cadet cannot take the exam online, you may choose to create a paper copy of that cadet’s exam. Register the cadet the same as for an online exam, and assign the test as described on page 8. Then, to print a paper copy, simply select the exam from the center column and clickPrint Master/Key

  13. Printing Paper Exams The Print Master/Key button shows this screen. You want to generate a Blank Master so change the checkboxes (uncheck boxes as needed) to match this example, then click Print

  14. Printing Paper Exams Select the Print function from the browser’s FILE pulldown to print the exam on your printer. Note: you can use Print Preview to check pagination before printing. To edit page layout, use Save As… to save the file then open it with an editor that can edit HTML

  15. Printing Answer Sheet for a Paper Exam The Print Master/Key button shows this screen. You want to generate an OCR Answer Sheet so check this box, which also unchecks a number of other boxes), then click Print.

  16. Printing Answer Sheet for a Paper Exam Select the Print function from the browser’s FILE pulldown to print the answer sheet on your printer. You are now ready to give the candidate both the printed exam and the answer sheet.

  17. Use your registrar ID and PW to login (as the Unit CO) Then click on Candidate from the menu to pull up the list of cadets. Highlight the cadet’s name in the list to edit the record. Inputting Answers for a Paper Exam Once a paper exam has been completed, you can input the answers for scoring by highlighting the test in the center column, then clicking on the Input Answers button.

  18. Inputting Answers for a Paper Exam Using the numbers or letters on you keyboard, simply click on an answer for question number one, then enter the answers from the paper answer sheet. Remember each test is unique. When finished click Post Data
