31. Making Blocks The clay goes through the vibrating screen we made from old bed springs and a washing machine motor, to remove rocks, roots and large lumps. (Yes, that's me driving.)

33. Stabilizationand Hydration The bobcat puts the screened clay into the paddle mixer. We add 5-7% cement and then mist in just enough water so the clay lumps together when squeezed in your hand.

35. Compressed Earth Blocks (CEBs) The bobcat puts the hydrated clay onto the platform to be pushed into the block machine’s hopper by someone standing on the platform. When I’m working alone, the clay goes into the hopper of the conveyor belt so I can load the machine.
