  4. Classroom Layout • What did the teachers do to prepare their classroom to better suit the students? • NAPA • Board Maker • Schedule written on board • Bins for each student • Stations

Classroom Activities • NAPA North • Puzzles • mostly used by Brittany • DT Training • on the computer • each student has their own customized programs geared towards the specific areas they need help with • Wii • used as active break/reward for the students • favorite games: Michael Jackson Experience and Wii sports • Bolts • used to work on motor skills • Counting Money • News to You • Tickets • reward system • students save up to get various (mainly hot lunches from somewhere off campus

Changes Observed in the Classroom • Brittany learns to do puzzles • third week, she was able to distinguish the difference between edges, corners, and center pieces, something they had been working on for months • Isaiah learning social cues • When we first met him he politely introduced himself, which Ms. Johnson explained was a big deal and had been worked on for weeks. • Jayda beginning to deal with frustration in a more calm and contained in way • In art class she wasn’t understand how to draw using a grid, but instead of throwing a fit or saying “she couldn’t”, she simply said “I don’t understand” and we moved on and tried a different method of explanation
