On March 11, 2014, 8th-grade students will engage in learning about civil rights through mind mapping and group discussions. They will work individually and collaboratively using academic language scripts. The agenda includes finalizing their informative essays and submitting dialectical journal assignments. Key activities involve reading and annotating their Independent Reading Books (IRB), practicing dialectical journals, and understanding requirements for upcoming Oral Book Reports. The session will conclude with an exit ticket summarizing dialectical journal requirements.

Next: • You’ll receive a sheet of printer paper. • Place it horizontally on your desk (landscape). • Find colored pencils/markers/highlighters.
