  3. LMI is: Information which relates to the labour market inc employment details, salary details, vacancies and skill shortages and growth sectors. It can demonstrate: Which employers are doing well in which sectors What types of opportunities are in the labour market that can affect your choices after A levels Inform you of employers who recruit after A levels Demonstrate shortages in skills which employers deem necessary which you can work on during your time in school and beyond. Let’s look a little more at LMI • In small groups you have been provided with a set of Company names ( mainly the top employers in N Ireland). • Using the ‘6 Growth Sector’ work cards…categorise which employers belong to which sector; ( 5-10 mins) • Feedback – how difficult was this in groups ?

Task (2) • Use your Resource Material at the desks – Group Work( decide who will be the team leader and who will take responsibility for feedback) • Draw up a list of Progression Routes ( Foundation Degrees/HNDs/Degrees) that allow progression for an individual to TWO of the 6 Growth sectors available. • As a group decide on which TWO sectors you want to focus on and why, and delegate who will research for each sector. • Record your courses/progression routes on the A4 headed paper as appropriate.
