PRESENT SCENARIO for Weld Volume And Cost Calculator • Engineer takes each drawing and calculates the weld requirement takes about one to two hours • Arriving at Bill of Material (BOM) takes one hour. • Total estimation typically takes 7 to 8 hours.   4. SPUWeld– INPUT SHEET • It is important to note that only .dwg drawings can be chosen. • It is also important the symbols used in the drawing needs to be replaced with the default local templates that are available in the DB.

SPUWeld– ADMIn • Weld Output takes you to the stored location of the files • We can add a new symbol which is not available in the database • We can also edit the existing symbol in the database • We can also view the same • Admin – has the options to set the user with the options like the editing the symbol, formulaes and other options as well.

SPUWeld– edit symbol • On clicking the edit symbol as shown in the previous screens , it opens the dialog box as shown above. • We can make the necessary changes like attribute and we can also check the same by evaluating the expression. • We can then save the same which may be used for the future transactions.

  8. SPUWeld– Admin • As shown above the user can be set the privileges which allows him / her to use the software as desired. • You can allow the add, edit or view symbols , parse the drawing and also define the admin functions for the user.

  9. SPUWeld– Admin • In the first screen if we choose the welding calculator model, we can select the type of welding process like SMAW, GMAW or SAW. • Select the welding process. GTAW SMAW GMAW

  10. SPUWeld– Admin After selecting the welding process we can select the type of the weld preparation to be carried out in this regard. We can enlisted some of the major types which may be expanded on the custom requirement in this regard,
