Importance of the Paralympics • Given importance alongside Olympic games • Host city bids for both at the same time • Avenue for development of positive attitudes towards people with disabilities • Avenue for integration and inclusion of people with disabilities • Showcase for people with disabilities to show their ability • To give people with disabilities role models • Promote the ethics of inclusion in sporting society • Use the word Paralympic meaning parallel • Another opportunity to bring nations together
