  2. Problems with IP links in spontaneous wireless networks • Asymmetry • Time-variance • Non-transitivity • Indefinite range = UNDEFINED CONNECTIVITY

Consequences • Concept of a “neighbor” becomes ambiguous • Affects “neighbor discovery protocol” • Definition of a “link” is no longer as crisp • Affects the operation of protocols using “link-local” addresses • Have to be very careful when advertising “subnet prefixes” (see for instance RFC 5889) • ICMP handling • What if the subnet gets “disconnected”? • Did I mention “verrrrrry careful”???
