  2. Hygiene • Hygiene is the study and observance of health rules. • Hygiene refers to the set of practices associated with the preservation of health and healthy living.

  3. Hygiene • Hygiene is an old concept related to medicine, as well as to personal and professional care practices related to most aspects of living. • In medicine and in home (domestic) and everyday life settings, hygiene practices are employed as preventative measures to reduce the incidence and spreading of disease.

  4. Personal Hygiene • Personal Hygiene is defined as “The branch of health which is concerned with the individual΄s adjustment to the physiological needs of the body and mind for the attainment of the maximum level of health”.

  5. Personal Hygiene • Personal hygiene involves those practices that promote: Mental Emotional Physical health Social well being of the individual

  7. Heritage • Heritage is an innate factor. • It is what a person, actually is even before birth.

  8. Environment • Environment is what an individual has, e.g Relations Friends Housing Food

  9. Response • Response is what the individual does with one΄s heritage in the prevailing environment.

  11. Mental Aspects of Personal Hygiene • Mental hygiene deals with ways of human mind to obtain personal and environmental enrichment of life. • It deals with psychological concepts as: Desires Emotions Satisfactions Attitudes

Social Aspect of Personal Hygiene • Social aspect of personal hygiene is based upon the principle that No person, who should be called healthy, has the right to do anything which would harm his fellows • Drug addiction, use of tobacco are the aspects of unhealthy social aspect of personal hygiene

  15. Physical Aspects of Personal Hygiene • Personal hygiene involves those practices performed by an individual to care for one's bodily health and well being, through cleanliness. • Good personal hygiene habits are related to the different parts of body.

  18. Oral Hygiene

  19. Bad Breath Caused by the activity of certain types of oral bacteria. Other causes: • Tongue not cleaned • Food stuck in teeth • Sinus problems • Stomach problems

  21. Wash the face two times a day with a mild soap or gentle cleanser. • Use lotions if needed. Care of the face

  25. For the maintenance of good health both physical and mental hygiene must be practiced regularly. • Physical and mental hygiene must go hand in hand. • Hygiene is the secret of health. Conclusion
