  6. Site Updates – Page Caching

  7. Page Caching – new default setting in CQ Page Caching = static copies of pages stored on the web server for quick retrieval. To improve site performance we changed settings The server now saves and uses a static cached copy of a page for up to 3 days, unless the page is activatedinAuthor Static means that content lists on a page (such as a Documents tab page) do not update as new content is added

  8. Example – How this impacts author workflow:You’ve Made an Update to an Existing Document Page 1) Activate Document Page

  9. Example – How this impacts author workflow: You’ve Made an Update to an Existing Document Page 2) Activate Overview Page

  10. Example – How this impacts author workflow: You’ve Made an Update to an Existing Document Page 3) Activate Documents Tab Page

  11. Page Caching – new default setting in CQ Alternative for active content areas: add a tag to an aggregation page to turn off caching on that page This should only be pages where you are doing a lot of adding or updating of content.Balance between fast page load for visitors and extra steps for authors • We can set this up for you – let us know what pages you would like to have tagged.
