Dormant Accounts • The Framework underpinning the Dormant Accounts Fund is based on 2 Acts – the Dormant Accounts Act 2001 together with the Unclaimed Life Assurance Policies Act 2003. • The Dormant Accounts Disbursements Board produced a plan, submitted it to Government and this plan was agreed at the end of September. It will be launched within the next three weeks. • There are three broad categories eligible for support under this Fund as follows: • Social and economic disadvantage • Educational Disadvantage • Disability • Priority for the first two categories of support will be given to projects coming from RAPID, CLAR and Local Drugs Task Force areas. • Guidelines on the Fund and application forms will be available near to the launch, and the availability of the Fund will be announced at the launch. It is envisaged that some funding may be committed before the end of the year. • This is a significant move forward in bringing new investment to RAPID areas

15. DOELG –current status • Department has confirmed investment responses to RAPID projects of over E200M. • Department has informed all City/County Managers of need to prioritise RAPID in 2004 spend. • Department has agreed that all CDB Directors will be informed of all funding rounds/opportunities, in order to support AIT access.

16. Dept. of Education • NEWB prioritising schools in RAPID areas • Significant difficulty funding Youth Projects but may relook at existing funding • Still seeking more accurate info. re schools in RAPID areas

18. DAST – Current Status • DAST has confirmed the allocation of Euro7.6M of investment in RAPID areas through Sports Capital Grants. • Recognises the need ensure RAPID prioritisation and to attempt to recognise local experience/knowledge of AIT. • Will continue to prioritise RAPID in future funding allocations rounds.

19. DCRGA • The Department is continuing to progress the proposals on the “Fourth Measure” of the LDSIP. • Department is very aware of the need to ensure that all of its relevant programmes prioritise RAPID. • Dept will inform Co-ordinators (through ADM) of all future calls for proposals.

20. DETE/FAS • Continued prioritisation of project proposals submitted to DETE. • Continued efforts to prioritise RAPID areas for CE. • Ongoing process of defining range/limits of changes to community services schemes

21. DJELR • Reports continuing particular difficultes with funding Youth Diversion Programme proposals. • Reports, however, that it has now agreed 11.4 m allocations for 26 RAPID proposals. • Additional 40m to other EOCP proposals in RAPID areas. • Any new funding opportunities will be notified to Co-ordinators, via ADM.
