  3. Your task…. • Cut out a round disk of card • Draw a cage on one side • Draw a bird on the other side • Punch a hole near the edge of the disc. Repeat on the opposite side. • Thread a length of string through one hole and secure with a knot. Do the same for the other hole • Hold a piece of string in each hand and twist. • What happens? • Film this.

Now…. • It’s your turn to ‘make a Muybridge’ • Photograph something/someone moving in 12 frames. • Make a new Premiere project called Unit 16: Film and Video Techniques • Import these photos into Premier. Make each picture duration 2 frames long. • Make a title page called ‘My Eadward Muybridge example’ and place this at the front of your film.

  12. Now…. • Set up your camera at an interesting location. Keeping your camera still, film for 30 seconds. • Import this into the Premiere file you made for the Muybridge example. • Add a title page called ‘My Lumiere brothers example’

Homework • Write your answer to the question – ‘What was the purpose of film at this point?’ • Research the differences between; • film and video • analogue and digital • Consider the following; • quality • ease of use • cost for production • ease of distribution • On your Weebly website, make a new page called Unit 16: Film and Video Editing Techniques / LO1 • Write up your research in 400 words. This is due Wednesday 23rd October along with your Thaumotrope, Muybridge and Lumiere examples
