  2. What do I need? 1 – Supply Box 1 – Feed Scoop 2 – Show Sticks 1 – Feed Bucket 1 – Brush 1 – Rubber Feed Bowl or 1 – Clip on Feeder (optional) 1 – Watering Nipple

  3. Any box to lock your feed and show supplies up at the barn. Can be purchased from Home Depot, Walmart, etc. Lockable Supply Box

  4. Cost $4 Any feed store 1 lb coffee can works too! Feed Scoop

  5. Very Durable Made of Fiberglass Cost $7 Most feed stores Practice Show Stick

  6. This is the actual show stick Not durable Cost $14 Any Feed Store Show Stick

  7. You need this for mixing feeds Cost $5 Any feed store Feed Bucket

  8. You will need to use this to clean your pig Cost $10 Any feed store, Wal-Mart, etc. Brush

  9. This is what you feed your pig out of… Cost $7 Any Feed Store Rubber Feed Pan

  10. This is another bowl you can use to feed your pig. Harder for the pig to flip over Cost $12 Any feed store will carry this Clip on Feeder

  12. How will we feed the pig? • Young Pigs – 50 to 110 lbs • Feed Mooremans 12006 • Cost $20 per bag • Growing Pigs – 110 to 210 lbs • Feed Mooremans 273 • Cost $19 per bag

  13. Feeding • Finisher feed 210 to 260 lbs • To determine this we have to evaluate the pig • We evaluate the pigs at 45 days till show and 21 days till show • December 25 & January 17 • This is when we determine supplemental feeding

  14. What am I looking for on Oct 3rd? What is the judge looking for on Feb 7? What are we looking for in a pig?

  15. Meat • Your animal is a Market Animal • This means we want meat • The best hogs are the ones with the most lean muscle!

  22. CALL AHEAD • Feed stores run out of feed!! • Always call ahead to make sure you are going to get feed • Tell them in advance what you are going to be feeding and ask them to keep it in stock!
