  2. Status of India CMS T2 Centre T2-IN-TIFR Resources • On-line Resources: • Computing: • 360 Cores in 45 Blade Servers, Quad Core Dual processor, Intel 5355 @ 2.66 GHz (Clovertown), 16 GB RAM (2GB/ Core), 72GB HDD • Storage: • 485TB disk space spread over 20 Servers • 18 servers: Intel 5439, Dual Quard core, 16 GB RAM, 4x1 GB NIC, 24x1TB HDD, RAID6 • 2 servers: Intel E5620, Dual Quard Core, 24GB RAM, 4x1 GB NIC, 34x2TB HDD, RAID6 • Future Resources: • Adding 320 core CPUs (i.e., Westmere) to the Cream-CE pool. • Adding 140TB disk space to Storage Element (dpm_server). • Tenders were floated for Core L3 switch and Unified Threat Management (UTM) . • GEANT link to CERN to be upgraded ( burst of 6 hrs, 1.5 GBps). • General Internet Via National Knowledge Network (NKN).

  3. Status of India CMS T2 Centre Activities in T2-IN-TIFR • Pool Account Mapping were implemented sucessfully. • Eg: priority user, hi-priority user, production user.. etc., • Migrated from lcg-CE (sl4x) to Cream-CE (sl5x) • Migrated dpm_server and dpm_client from gLite 3.1 (sl4x) to gLite 3.2 (sl5x) • Migrated APEL and site-BDII Servers to high-end machines. • Installed Argus Server- • Is a meant to render consistent authorization decisions for distributed services (e.g. compute elements, portals) • Installed gLexec on all worker nodes - • To participate in Multi User Pilot Jobs (MUPJ) using “ops-pilot” user • Successfully passed LHCONE benchmark testing. (more in next slide) • Implementation of Batch system's fair share is in progress.

  4. Status of India CMS T2 Centre LHCONE • The objective of LHCONE is to provide a collection of access locations that are effectively entry points into a network that is private to the LHC T1/2/3 sites. Ref:https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/CMS/CMSLHCONELoadTestResults Our T2 has been specially chosen to be part of LHCONE among several sites, to provide high speed access. (PhEDEx Transfers are fine !) One of the Largest T2s within CMS, in terms of storage.

  5. Status of India CMS T2 Centre • Various local problems cropped up which made site performance bad. • Various mandatory upgrades were took place within last 6 months. • Now, our T2 is up to date and working fine.

  6. Status of India CMS T2 Centre Jobs @ T2-IN-TIFR • Almost 10 Billion events have been processed at our T2 since beginning of this year. • HCJobRobot and JobRobot’s were passing successfully.
