  2. Whose Line is It Anyway? 200 Question ‘“So Ah’m back home agin and Ah’m satisfied tuh be heah. Ah done been tuh de horizon and back and now Ah kin set heah in mah house and live by comparisons. Dis house ain’t so absent of things lak it used tuh be…It’s full uh thoughts, ‘specially dat bedroom.”’

  3. Whose Line is It Anyway? 400 Question ‘“You come heahwidyo’ mouf full uh foolishnes on uh busy day. Heah you got uh prop tuh lean on all yo’ bawn days, and big protection, and everybody got tuh tip dey hat tuh you and call you Mis’ Killicks, and you come worryin’ me ‘bout love.”’

  7. Characters 200 Question This is the main character. She finds herself throughout the novel by engaging in various marriages and ultimately choosing herself. She is a product of feminism.

  8. Characters 400 Question This male character is Janie’s last husband. He is younger than her, but helps her find herself and grow into a powerful, independent woman.

  9. Characters 600 Question As a controlling, manipulating husband, this male character leaves Janie realizing that their marriage is dead as he has morphed into a man who is different than the one she ran away with initially.

  10. Characters 800 Question This female character raises Janie and is the first person to teach her that marriage isn’t always about love and happiness, but rather the things your husband is able to provide for you.
