Student Interventions and Incentives for Attendance • Use Connect-Ed telephone notification system to call parents of absent and extremely tardy students daily. • The attendance clerk will send a MCSD attendance policy letter to the parents of students with three unexcused absences. • The graduation coach will counsel students with three or more absences and conference with their parents. 3

Graduation coach will counsel students with five absences and have students sign an attendance contract. • Attendance committee will meet weekly to discuss intervention strategies for students with five or more absences. • The school social worker will contact parents by phone, send a letter, and/or make a visit to the home of students with five or more unexcused absences. • 4

The school social worker and graduation coach will conference with students who have more than five unexcused absences. • Students with perfect attendance for the grading period (nine weeks) will have their names placed on the morning rolling announcements, the school’s website, the “Lion’s Rotunda” of the building, receive $10.00 in “Baker Bucks,” and be honored with a special luncheon. • Homerooms, on each grade level, with the highest monthly attendance will receive ice cream during lunch, be recognized on the morning rolling announcements, the school’s newspaper, the “Lion’s Rotunda,” and on the school’s website.

Monitoring Attendance • Attendance clerk provides a daily student attendance and tardy report to the Graduation Coach. • Graduation coach contacts parents and students with three or more absences or tardies. • Graduation coach prepares a weekly attendance report to be reviewed by the Leadership Team. • A copy is given to each grade level Team Leader. 13

CRCT Attendance Incentives • Everyday students are present and on time for school, beginning April 14 – 25, their names will be entered into a drawing for one of the two basketball baskets on display in the rotunda. Make sure you have ten chances to win! • Students who are present and on time, beginning April 14 – 25, will receive a ticket to attend a dance in the gym last period on Friday, May 2nd.
