Tapping into the power of small groups Small Groups meet for many different reasons: • Fellowship and support • Address specific life topics such as marriage, parenting, dating, addiction, or divorce recovery • Study the Bible or grow spiritually “Small groups are one of the most powerful tools of life change and spiritual growth!” Dr. Henry Cloud & Dr. John Townsend, Making Small Groups Work “From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work” -Ephesians 4:16

  3. What happens in small groups? • A second family • Connection • Discipline and structure • Prayer • Accountability • Forgiveness • Support and Strengthening • Mentoring • Grieving • Healing • Confrontation • Modeling • Acceptance of Weakness • Discipleship

  4. Who is qualified to be in a small group? EVERYONE! Shopping around for a small group or experiencing the different groups is a great idea! Things to Consider • Group Purpose Fits Your Purpose • Each group will have it’s own functions and purpose. The direction that you want to take should match the direction of the group as well. • Group Structure Fits Your Values & Abilities • Make sure you understand what the group is about and how they operate.
