  2. Definition Group Processing is when a group of students cooperatively define the topic of study and investigate information

  3. 6 Steps… • Students are placed into groups • The group identifies the topic • Each student gathers information from a variety of sources • The group prepares a final report • Each group member participates in the class presentation • Students decide on the purpose, methods, and means of evaluation

  4. When Should It Be Used? Group Processing should be used when developing problem-solving skills

  5. Advantages • No competition within the group • Students learn to work cooperatively • Students think on higher levels • More information is shared than if done on an individual basis

  6. Disadvantages The only disadvantage is if the group does not work cooperatively
