  1. Project title: 'Modernization of spatial data infrastructure to reduce risks and impacts of floods' Klemen MEDVED, SurveyingandMappingAuthority 1.10.2014 Ljubljana, workshop on GRFR

  2. PRE-DEFINED PROJECT • Project proposal for the European Economic Area mechanism 2009-2014 • Full legal name: Republic of Slovenia, Ministry of Infrastructure and Spatial Planning, Surveying and Mapping Authority of the Republic of Slovenia • Cooperationwith: • Geodetic Institute ofSlovenia • Universityof Ljubljana, FacultyforGeodesy • Headofproject: JurijRežek, M.Sc., Director of Geodesy Office

  3. The project is composed of four subprojects: • subproject Geodetic Reference Frame (GRFR); • subproject Topography (TOPO); • subproject INSPIRE (INSP) and • subproject Hydrography (HIDRO).

  4. Goals • The overall objective of the project is modernisation of infrastructure for spatial information to support water management and reduce flood risks and impacts in line with INSPIRE harmonisation rules. Objectives GRFR: • provide modern, INSPIRE compliant geodetic reference, with establishment of vertical reference system (levelling network and geoid) and national combined network, which are essential for securing coordinate reference for quality spatial data;

  5. Outcomes: • establishment of a national combined geodetic network (“zero-order” horizontal and vertical networks) with • implementation of a vertical component of the ESRS with • development of a high-quality national geoid-like surface with

  6. Indicators:

  7. Tasks: • 1.1. Establishment of a national combined geodetic network • 1.1.1 Establishment of zero order points • 1.1.2 Purchases of new equipment for network • 1.1.3 Implementation of the combined geodetic network as the national reference frame • 1.1.4 Operational functioning of the combined geodetic network • 1.2 Implementation of a vertical component of the ESRS • 1.2.1 Stabilization of benchmarks • 1.2.2 Measurement of first order leveling network • 1.2.3 Gravimetric measurements • 1.2.4 Determination of new national vertical components of coordinate system • 1.2.5 Height transformation model • 1.3. Computation of new geoid • 1.3.1 Computation of new geoid or quasi-geoid
