Addressing Gaps in Infant Feeding Practices in Nepal: A Comprehensive Workplan
Nepal faces significant challenges in Infant Feeding Practices (IFE) due to inadequate government policy and limited training for staff. Key issues include staff not prioritizing emergency coordination, a lack of understanding of essential IFE indicators, and the absence of systems to reduce the risks associated with formula feeding. To address these challenges, this workplan outlines six key priorities: 1) Policy Development, 2) Capacity Building, 3) Coordination Improvement, 4) Assessment and Monitoring, 5) Support for Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF), and 6) Minimizing Risks of Artificial Feeding.
