  3. Career Service Overview • To inform students about available career opportunities and direct placement activities among employees, students and college staff.

  5. Cooperative Education • Co-op is designed to blend academic knowledge with real life hands on work experience through career related work experience. Co-op students work in paid positions which are related to their field of study. • Course Number: COOP 197 and COOP 297 • (297 is needed for the associate degree) • 1 credit = 162 hours • Students can choose from 1-5 credits • Typical co-op being 2 credits (324 hours).

  6. Cooperative Education • Process: • Find a co-op position • Fill out necessary paper work • Can be found in SSCS office or online • Register for co-op • Do the co-op • Keep track of paysheet • Fill out Evaluation

Reports • Placement Report • Reports how many of our registered graduates found employment • 98% placement rate for 2009-2010 Academic Year • Gainful Employment Report • Provides students and consumers with the information they need to make good education choices. • Information such as program costs, placement rates, graduation rates, and median loan debt are provided for the certificate programs NDSCS offers. • Both reports are located on the NDSCS website
